StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is a military science fiction real-time strategy video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment as a sequel to the award-winning 1998 video game StarCraft. Released on July 27, 2010, the game was developed for concurrent release on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. StarCraft II is split into three installments: the base game with the subtitle Wings of Liberty, and two expansion packs, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void.Answer #2:
It's an RTS, meaning you command units from a third person view. Multiplayer puts your army against your opponent's.Answer #3:
SC2 is a Real Time Strategy game. Other games in the genre include Warcraft 3, Age of Empires, Civilization, Command and Conquer, Total War, Rise of Nations. If you're unfamilar with RTS games, In a multi-player match essentially you build an army comprised of dozens of troops (Each unit with their own strength and weakness), gather resources across the map to build a base and army and try and take out your opponent. Granted there is a ton of strategy and skill involved and it takes a lot of practice.

I really enjoyed the Campaign, the missions are pretty fun as each one has a different gimmick/objective to contend and adapt with.
The game is very well balanced and fun. There's a reason why it's practically the National Pastime of South Korea.
And for the record: Cataclysm has no release date, chances are it won't be out until October/November.
Answer #4:
Starcraft 2 is a boring game. Its an RTS which basically means a bunch of micromanaging and never actually doing anything yourself. You just point and click and tell them what to do. Its very tedious and repetitive. If you like Just staring at the screen and strategyzing then maybe its fun. But even the multiplayer is the same. Build this here, have these characters mine some stuff to build something, move these guys around to defend something that's all you do. No actual shooting or anything fun.** Powered by Yahoo Answers
