Question: Do you believe in the (rational) existence of aliens?

( Back )

Answer #1:

Of course. Quite arrogant to think there's only one planet in the entire universe with abundant life on it.

Answer #2:

Statistically speaking they exist...However...The evidence is still lacking

Answer #3:

Given the sheer size of the universe, it is quite possible that life exists somewhere outside of Earth in some form...

Answer #4:

Yes, I believe that life on other planets is highly possible..

Answer #5:

i look at it like this .. the probabilities scientifically are that there are other beings in the universe .. and some of them are likely (get this) not 'alittle more advanced than us' .. but millions of years more advanced than us or more .. go figure that into your test tube ... so threatening us, its not about threats .. its whether or not they have decided to let us live ...

Answer #6:

of course. in fact, if you watch Ancient Aliens on the history channel, you will see that there is tons of evidence supporting the theory that aliens heavily influenced early human civilizations

Answer #7:

Seems pretty likely

Answer #8:

yes

Answer #9:

Only if the eyes are blue and unusual, lol! Just looking at yr avatar.

Let's put it this way...the possibilities are endless. Once we achieve everlasting life we can travel like the speed of light to other planets and back to earth. There is so much speculation.

Right now our concern should be surviving into the new Kingdom or Government.

Answer #10:

They buzzed me a couple years ago. Flew in front of me one dark morning and the lights went OUT!
A friend I told about it said two guys at his job saw it too.

Answer #11:

evil and good spirits yea >> aliens
angels yea

Answer #12:

Yes.I would be foolish to assume, that we--imperfect citizens of third class planet--are only intellectual creatures in Universe.

Answer #13:

Science Fiction is a huge entertainment industry business.

Star trek on 1960's TV etc Star Wars, Close encounters, Forbidden Planet, Alien, Mars Attack and all the rest, and then we have all those people who deny the existence of aliens.

Wouldn't that part of popular culture indicate most people believe aliens exist.

Answer #14:

Aliens are already here. If he doesn't realize that, there is no hope for him.

Not all of the ET's have green faces with almond eyes.

Answer #15:

Intelligent life on earth was a rare, one-time phenomenon (out of trillions of species). I find it unlikely intelligent life exists elsewhere, though probable (unintelligent) alien life exists. People have a hard time understanding that evolution doesn't have a goal for developing intelligence.

Answer #16:

I do not believe in aliens. Here's why:

The number of stars is in the universe is approximately 5*10 to the 21st power. Yet, as large as that is it not near enough to find another planet that is habitable for intelligent life. The planet has to be in the habitable zone of the star, it must have an almost perfect circular orbit, it must be in a spiral galaxy, it almost certainly not form around a type-O or type B star nor be from a brown dwarf star.

In addition the mass must be almost exactly earth size (venus size (85%of earth size) is too small. The chromosphere of the star must be like ours, the water cycle must exist and it must have the proper percentage of land to water. Also, it must have a giant moon (to slow the planets spinning and provide gravity for tides). It also almost assuredly must have giant planets outside it's orbit to act as a shield to stop the planet being hit by comets and asteroids.

I outlined some of this at Click Here . However, the book "Rare planet" and "What if there was no Moon" say it much better
